So after my last post I had some very good interesting conversations with my parents, brother, and friends. God showed me through all these conversations a new way to look at life. Why do we so heavily concentrate on the question, “Would Jesus drink?” Why not, “Would Jesus play Halo?”, “Would Jesus drive a car?”, “Would Jesus drink coffee?” Why is all of our questions centered around one issue?
A very wise man once said, “For instance why would Jesus choose to turn water into wine (really good wine) for a wedding when he could have left it as it was, or turned it into a really weak wine (because people by this time in the wedding didn’t really care - John 2:1-12).”
“I think the truth is that Jesus lived his life listening and following the will of His Father… sometimes that meant breaking the social norms, sometimes it meant keeping in step with them, but whatever He did, He was never out of step with the Father. I think discussing and asking the questions of how we can be in step with God and know we are in step with God is a better question to ask, and a better way to live.”
